To get to this idyllic spot we travel through country lanes which remind me of my childhood, untouched by time, mysterious and inviting, asking you to explore their depths. This photo, taken by me at 6am, before the day began, just the rabbits and the squirrels for company. The Oast Houses Northiam Kent
Summer Camp is held here at Northiam by kind permission of the owner Mr Whaite. We have a marquee in the paddock, the children have their own tents supervised by a camp leader, and a smaller marquee where Alan and I do the cooking. The buildings shown here are where the tuck shop is housed and the far building is the swimming pool which the children love.

The photo of the country lane is reminiscent of my childhood too! Of course mine was in the far-away reaches of western Canada but it was very idyllic and peaceful. On some of my crazy days I can physically ache for a repetition of those country lanes once more. Lovely photo, Dorothy. :)
