Gardening is about enjoying the smell of growing things in the soil, getting dirty without feeling guilty, and generally taking the time to soak up a little peace and serenity

First day of summer camp is here again. Everything seems to be going well as we prepare for the kids coming on Thursday. Before that though we have a few days with the teenagers. This year a couple of the children who first came to camp 10 years ago, as youngsters, are now young adults and are here has staff, it's really good to see them grown. It means a lot of hard work this next 2 weeks with, hopefully, no frazzled tempers, no tears, and no falling out, most of the catering is organised, the marquee is up in record time, and I am just getting ready to collect our first meal, a treat of fish and chips, for 15 volunteer staff who help with aforsaid marquee. The kids are sleeping in teepees this year as opposed to tents so that will be quite exciting for them. We, Alan and I that is, go home to my sons house to sleep. A bit old now for camping and a bit stiff in the joints. The weather is so far good and promises to stay that way, good old Kent weather, far warmer than up north where we hail from. Better get moving hopefully I wont get too tired to post again tomorrow.
